Kim interviews Dr. Jim Mahar of FinanceProfessor.com about the recent market drama and why we should think long-term.

0:55  Why we shouldn't worry so much about recent performance and why we shouldn't get hung up on little things.
2:03  Lots of things in the investment world have changed since the 1920s.
3:10  Dr. Mahar says he doesn't expect to see as high returns going forward, but there's no way to know for sure. He says be cautiously optimistic.
4:00  When mountain biking, don't look at every rock and stick in your path; keep looking down the road a bit. It's the same with investing.
4:52  He says you shouldn't try to chase returns. Market-timing doesn't work.
5:41  He says don't think short term; think long-term.
6:18  How do you define the long term?
7:05  He says people should automate their investments as much as possible -- take away emotions.
10:10  Reasons why market-timing doesn't work... He gives an example with fantasy football.
