Bora Bora Society Heads for the Desert
The Bora Bora Society has spoken! Back in October, Kim asked all our alumni if they'd like to take another trip together. The response was a resounding yes! And most of you said you'd like to take a luxury vacation in Sedona, Arizona.
So we got working on the plans, and here they are:
Dates: April 15-19, 2007 (five days/four nights)
Hotel: Los Abrigados Resort and Spa
Guests will stay in spacious one-bedroom suites, which include a living area, dining area, patio or balcony, kitchen and full bath. Resort facilities include a full-service spa and fitness center, as well as three restaurants.
A deluxe chartered bus will pick you up from the Phoenix Airport on April 15 and take you to the resort, stopping for a tour of the Montezuma Castle National Monument along the way. You'll also receive a voucher for a Sedona Trolley Tour, and you'll get to go on a 2 1/2-hour Jeep tour to see Sedona's famous rock formations.
Optional activities include:
- Sunrise hot-air balloon ride
- Grand Canyon air tour
- 10-hour ghost town and wilderness train tour
- Horseback trail ride
- ATV scenic adventure
- Golf
- Hiking
- Shopping and art gallery tour
- Spa services
You can learn more about the activities by going to a special page on our website, and you can begin the registration process by visiting our travel coordinator's site.
Cost: $2,250 per couple or $1,650 per single, not including airfare. Price includes breakfasts and dinners.
We aren't including airfare in the cost because we know many of you would like to use your frequent-flier miles or other discounts. So we've made an arrangement with American Airlines. When you book your flight, give them the authorization code A3447AS, and they'll give you a 5% discount just for being part of our Bora Bora Society trip. Online, go to aa.com and insert the authorization code, or call 1-800-433-1790 to make your travel arrangements.
The most convenient flight for our Dallas graduates will probably be #1489 from D/FW to Phoenix on the 15th, and #2772 from Phoenix to D/FW on the 19th. You're free to book any flight you choose, but our bus will leave the airport at 1:30 PM on April 15.
When you're ready to register for the trip, or if you have any questions, contact our travel coordinator, M.J. Chapman. Go to her website, call (760) 668-6131, or email her at CIAChapman@aol.com.
Just like last year's cruise, this trip promises a great mix of fun, relaxation and education. Come reacquaint yourselves with old friends, and make some new ones along the way. We can't wait to see you in Arizona!

Tell Us Where To Go!
Last year, we asked our alumni if you would be interested in taking a cruise together. We were overwhelmed by the great response. In April, about 50 of us set out to Mexico and the Caribbean for a week of fun and education -- and the Bora Bora Society was born. I've had more than a few alumni say they had such a great time, they want to know what we're planning for next year!
Well, we're having a tough time deciding, because so many getaways look great. So we've decided to ask for your help. We've narrowed it down to four options, which I've listed below. Would you mind taking a look at these and telling me which one appeals most to you? Cast your vote and leave any thoughts or comments below.
Here are the options:

1. Cruise from Galveston to the Caribbean. This is like the trip we took this year. Seven nights with stops in Key West, Fla.; Georgetown, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel, Mexico. Cost is approximately $1,800 per couple.
- 2. Luxurious stay in Sedona. Five days/four nights in beautiful Arizona. Accommodations include spacious one-bedroom suites with living area, couch, dining area and kitchen. Resort amenities include a full-service spa and fitness center, along with access (at additional cost) to golf, hiking tours, horseback trail rides, hot air balloon rides and more. You'll also receive a trolley tour of Sedona, along with a Jeep ride and cowboy cookout. Cost is approximately $2,300 per couple, including airfare from Dallas.
- 3. All-inclusive "land cruise" in Melia Cabo Real, Mexico. Six days/five nights at this resort along Los Cabos' sapphire coast. Amenities include deluxe oversized rooms, an unlimited buffet and unlimited drinks and cocktails. The resort is surrounded by the Cabo Real signature golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II. You'll also have access (at additional cost) to spa services, jet skis and boat rentals, horseback riding, eco tours, deep sea fishing and more. Cost is approximately $3,000 per couple, including airfare from Dallas.
- 4. West Coast cruise from Los Angeles to Mexico. This eight day/seven night cruise will take you to destinations such as Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco and Puerta Vallarta. Highlights include a casino, fitness center, pools and hot tubs, themed bars and lounges, and galleria shops. Cost is approximately $3,000 $3,500 per couple, including airfare from Dallas.
We're looking to go the week of April 15, so do your taxes a little early then escape with us! Please tell us what your interest is in the survey boxes below. Additional thoughts and comments would also be welcome.
Oh, and one more thing! We want to do one trip each spring that attracts the largest possible group of our alumni. So we have worked hard to keep these prices as affordable as possible. But how many of you would be interested in smaller, more intimate, more exotic, and yes, more expensive trips if we put them together? For example, a trip to Bora Bora that cost more like $8000 - $10,000? The Orient Express? Or a Crystal Cruise? The options are limitless. The question is, would those high end trips be of interest?
