Monday Mailbag and the Bora Bora Society
I thought I would share a note I received from one of our graduates.
Kim,
I wish I were going to
be in town this weekend for the Open Space Meeting! I’m sure it will be
fantastic! Unfortunately, I will be traveling and will not be able to attend.
Please keep me posted on your thoughts/intentions around making the content
summery documentation available to those who are not able to
attend.
BTW – I’m quickly
approaching 2 years since I attended my training session with you and I continue
to use the Snider Method as our family’s primary retirement and savings
investment strategy. I continue to be impressed each month on Trade Day/Pay
Day!
My only issue is that I
find it difficult to recruit new followers of the method even though I am
extremely passionate about it and feel I have a strong grasp of how it works and
how to articulate it to others. Actually, I try to not even say much about how
the method works but just try to persuade them to attend your free intro
workshops. But it seems there have been many others before you who have sold
their “snake oil” strategies that were full of false hope & empty promises.
This has created an environment of jaded investors and a feeling of “it sounds
too good to be true”. This sentiment however will not deter me from my passion
to help bring my friends, family & acquaintances to the holy grail of
investing methods! Long live the Snider Method (and Kim Snider ; -
)!
Your friend &
fellow investor,
Paul Stewart
We held our second ever Snider Investment Method Open Space meeting at American Airlines and Training Center on Saturday. The first one was held on last year's Alumni Cruise. We had 81 attendees and lots of terrific discussion and exchange of ideas. We are working on compiling the notes and will post them here. Unfortunately, some of the groups were more diligent about note-taking than others but we will post what we got.
Speaking of the alumni trips, the registration deadline for our second alumni trip - the Bora Bora Society trip to Sedona, AZ April 15 - 19 was last Thursday. Our travel coordinator, MJ Chapman at Chapman Adventures, has let me know we don't have to release our room block until February 15 so if you want to go, you still can. You should call her right away.
We have 45 people going as of now, plus Jim and me and a few other folks from the company. 18 of those going are founding members of the Bora bora Society who went on last year's trip. It is going to be a lot of fun, a really great group and I hope you will join us.

Nice comment from the mailbag
We received a nice note from a recent attendee of one or our Dallas Snider Investment Method Workshops:
Dear Kim,
My wife and I attended the January 13-14 workshop and I just wanted to let you know Shelley Seagler did an excellent job! To be honest, when I learned before the workshop that Shelley (not you) would be teaching I was apprehensive about the quality of the training we would receive. I hadn't heard anything bad about Shelley, it was just that I had never heard of Shelley at all.
My fear was that the instruction would be coming from someone teaching from a book but who didn't fully understand the method and would not be able to answer questions. However, I was delighted during the workshop by Shelley's in-depth understanding of the method and her ability to easily and correctly answer all the questions from her class. In addition, Shelley has a great teaching style that made it easy and fun to learn the material.
Regards,
Tommy
Thanks for your nice note Tommy. I am glad you enjoyed the workshop. We think our instructors are one of the things that make us the best choice for financial education. You bet they know the Snider Method inside out. I wouldn't let them teach the workshop if they didn't. But more than that, they are educators.
As I am sure you know, Shelley taught high-school for over ten years. Alison taught gifted children. They are experts in the one thing I am not and never will be - making the material understandable, actionable and not least of all, enjoyable.
The same is true of our Customer Experience folks over at Chronim: Justin, John, Brian and Ellen. They are Registered Reps, all having passed the Series 65, working for an SEC Registered Investment Advisor. When you have a question, you don't get a salesperson or a call center. You get professionals who are steeped in understanding about our business philosophy, our investment philosophy and our investment methods.
Most of all, whoever you deal with, at either of our two companies, cares deeply about you. Hopefully that is obvious in everything we do.

Mailbag - An outpouring of thanks
I said I
wasn't going to resume my blog posting until next week. But sometimes you just
have to adjust. This is one of those times. In the last few days, I have gotten
three different emails from students commending Justin Brownlee, the Customer
Support Lead over at Chronim Advisors.
I wanted to share them with you for two reasons: 1) to publicly recognize Justin for a job well done; 2) to give others of you who have worked with Justin in the past and had a great experience to tell him so; (or anyone else onour team for that matter) and 3) because I am so proud of the support we provide to our alumni family after - sometimes years after - they complete our classes.
I guess that was three reasons, wasn't it?
Kim-
I want to thank and commend Justin Brownlee for all the help he has given me in reconciling my stake worksheet. After speaking with Options Xpress for a lengthy period of time about some improprieties in my account and finally giving up on them I called Justin.
He was patient, confident and helpful beyond my wildest expectations. Certainly he was more helpful than the people at Opions Xpress and they created the problem in the first place.
He is truly a quality person. One that you undoubtedly are quite proud of.
Thank you for your support,
Robert F Klauer
Kim,
I was Sniderized back in March of this year. I flew out to Dallas from Atlanta to attend the March 17th & 18th Workshop. Scott and Shelley were great!
The 2-day workshop got me into the game, but I have struggled on each trade day. Over the last couple of months, however, I've begun to better understand The [Snider Investment ] Method. The individual wholly responsible for my new-found understanding is Justin Brownlee.
Justin is the primary reason that I'm still in this game. He is always positive. He never is condescending or short with me about any of the multitude of questions I ask. He consistently encourages me and takes the time to explain things in terms that I understand. I can't say enough about Justin. He is truly an exceptional young man, and the fact that he is part of your organization speaks volumes -- very favorable volumes, I might add, about your organization.
Sincerely,
Roland Renne - Atlanta, Georgia
Dear Kim,
I just wanted to tell you how Justin Brownlee @ chronim helped me this month.
I was out of town at my parents home because my mother was just home from the hospital. On Monday,(trade day) I was beginning my trades with Justin on the phone and my dad came in and told me that mom was very ill again. I told Justin and he told me to request a vacation trade. Well...what a blessing to have him jump in with a quick solution.
I ultimately had to call 911 and go with my mother to the hospital. It was 24 hours later that I returned home exhausted. Later that day I checked my account and all was completed. We talked a few days later and I thanked him. (My mom just returned from the hospital last Thursday.)
Justin took over coaching from Cindy Speyrer and has done a wonderful job. He spends about 15 minutes on the phone with me each trade day. He looks over my shoulder and affirms that I am going in the right direction. I still am learning and loving it.
I just calculated my account....11.7% for the year. We started January 2006 and are very pleased.
Thank you and Happy New Year from the Fitzhughs...
This seems like a great time to toot the horn for all of the great people, including Justin, that do such a great job of promoting the Snider Method, delivering the Snider Method, and taking care of our Snider Method family. You all are the best and I am honored to work with each and every one of you!

Hey Kim,
I continue to enjoy and grow in the Method and find myself thinking about ways for your to market and get the word out. It is a great Investment Method and has become a way of life for me, my dad and now my brother.
I wanted to let you know I had an OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE with John Cooley of your staff. I had some issues balancing my account once the change in statements took effect. John was so courteous and knowledgeable and patient. He is a great Ambassador for your organization. I thought you'd want to know.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday. Best wishes for the Season.
Lee Gleiser
Thanks for your email, Lee. We know one of the worries some people might have about managing their own money is ending up "on an island" without someone to call. That is why we have outstanding support staff like John, Brian, Justin and Scott. Thank you for recognizing John. I'll pass on your kind words.

11-5-06 - Mailbag
Kim,
Very well thank you.
And let me make that THANK YOU!!
In 3.5 years (even starting with one position and only switching to the [Snider Investment Method™] fully after a year) we hit a milestone this month:
We have earned $1M using your method!
(I wish I could let you use that for advertising, but I'd rather remain the unknown "millionaire next door"..)
We haven't been able to keep all of it - the taxable account income had to replace my salary, and Uncle Sam wanted a cut - but WOW.
When I first took the class I had hopes this would solve our retirement concerns. Now I just wish I had taken the class when I went to an intro session months earlier.
Something you can mention:
Instead of having to save every penny for retirement and upcoming college expenses, we've doubled our contributions to our church and continue to sponsor more kids through children international (www.children.org)
In other words, the thank you should come from lots of people and not just your alumni..

Great job guys!
This email was in response to my post about "Mind-blowing Customer Service" on Kimmunications:
Hi Kim,
I have been a part of your program since February of
this year. Here is what I think makes a "Wow!" service and it is personified in
your companies.
1. It works! Much of what is recommended in the
financial world just doesn't work. What is said will happen, (or will likely
happen) doesn't. There is a disappointment that has almost become expected.
Everything you have said will happen--has happened! That is almost unheard
of.
2. You have knowledgeable people on the phones to
explain the unusual or to help correct my errors. In most financial
institutions, you have to go up through several layers of contact people to get
to someone that knows what they are talking about. The one answering the phone
is usually clueless. Even more dangerous are the ones that sound knowlegeable
and aren't and it takes time and much energy to find that out. (I would hate to
have dealt with Options Xpress without your firm to guide
me.)
3. Never having to hear the words, "I am sorry, but we
can't help you with that" is a gift. Or having someone say, "That was a really
dumb move," or nice words that effectively mean that, causes you to try to avoid
contact even when you need it badly. That has never happened with your
company. Your people have made me feel like I am important and that they are
happy to help me with my concerns.
I came out of the securities field and until recently
was a Registered Principal. I know what the wrong ways to do it consist of, and
was overjoyed when I was introduced to your organization. You have exceeded my
expectations in every way, including the income I am generating from the
system!
Thanks for all your
help!
Chuck Hill
Y'all keep up the great work. Our clients really appreciate you. So do I. Thanks.

GOOD JOB GUYS!!
I spoke with Noelle Baranowski today and wanted to pass on some of her comments. She had wonderful things to say about the Alumni Refresher she attended this last weekend. She said Scott and Shelley did a wonderful job. She also visited the Chronim offices last week to discuss some problems she had encountered. She said that Kyle E. was one of the most patient and polite people she has met in a long time. Good job guys.

On Brand Recognition
I took a call from Susan Garfield this week who is a recent graduate of the workshop. She complimented both Scott and Shelley on what an amazing job they did taking a lot of complicated information and presenting in such an organized and understandable manner. In the next breath she complimented Kyle E. on how knowledgeable and helpful he was when she called about opening her accounts. You all certainly have lived up to the aspect of our brand that says we want to surprise our clients ... she could not be more pleasantly surprised. Great job!
What you do every day is not just a job ... you make a huge impact on others every time you interact with a client. We've discussed how it is difficult for us to witness someone else being on brand because of our limited daily interaction, but here is a great example of who actually sees, benefits and recognizes when you are on brand. The interactions Susan has had with us so far has left her thinking (paraphrasing, of course), "Wow! They are good!" What an amazing day you will have if you make this your goal for every interaction you have with a client.

Note from Lynn Meador
Dear
friends,
Please pass along a word of thanks to Kim for her personal contact call to Christy and me. We were not available at the time, but heard her message on our voice mail. It means a lot to know that the she is interested enough to take the time to call and check with us about how things are going. You may tell her that it’s going very well and we’re very happy with the results that we’re receiving. We’ve expanded the program to some of my family’s investments and the results have been great – the family’s impressed. I’m hoping to get my brother to the seminar sometime soon so he can learn the application of the program for his personal business as well. Thanks to Kim and all of the staff for your continued interest and support. Sincerely, Lynn Meador
